Welcome To Tarangire National Park

About the Park

Tarangire National Park, located in northern Tanzania, is one of Africa's most underrated wildlife sanctuaries. Nestled between the meadows of Masai Steppe to the southeast and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the north and west, the park covers approximately 2,850 square kilometres of diverse landscapes. Named after the life-giving Tarangire River that winds its way through its heart, the park offers you an authentic African wilderness experience.

Blessed with a picturesque combination of savannah, rolling hills, and dense woodland, Tarangire is an adventurer's paradise. With majestic Baobab trees standing guard, it unfolds nature’s spectacle in its rawest form. An escapade to this beautiful park gifts you not just mesmerizing views, but also an array of natural wonders right from dawn to dusk on your Tanzania Safari.

Best Time to Visit

Tarangire National Park is a year-round destination, but the dry season from June to October is considered the best time to visit. This period is perfect for game viewing as animals congregate around the Tarangire River, providing stunning wildlife encounters.

  • June to October (Dry season): Best time for game viewing, fewer mosquitoes
  • November to May (Wet season): Great for bird watching, beautiful green scenery
